Bringing SoulStream back...

I just did my second radio show on Blogtalkradio of this year. My first show was a couple of weeks ago and it felt good to get back in the chair with my studio and get it all running again.

This show tonight was run from a laptop and a Samsung phone with a Bluetooth speaker/mic combination and it worked beautifully. Not the same quality as my big studio, but it did work and it offers me options since I need at least two studios to work from.

Mediumship and spiritual work is never easy and I find that just diving in and saying to hell with fear gets you back into the Work and doing the job of helping people. I am going to do just that. Reading is an art, a science and a mystery all rolled up into a big ball of "Oh my God... What the hell am I doing?" ;>) It is that fear that propels you forward.

Lucky for me, I have my training to fall back on and it's just a matter of meditating and getting back to the chair and facing it down. I remember doing some appearances on another show on BTR where the mediums were competing against one another and it struck me that mediums should work together, not work at odds against one another. I resolved to myself that I will never get into those situations again, nor will I allow un-screened guests to appear on the renewed show when it reappears on BTR.

Mediumship is a touchy subject and it brings the best and the worst out in people. And doing it on-air really is tough when you are trying to run the entire show yourself without a producer or anyone to screen calls. So... I will be doing the calling for those users who are checked in and have been verified to be real people and there will be no chat room on BTR. It will all be done with validated Facebook profiles or a Google Hangout. So stay tuned as we get back on our feet with all of that ;>)

To my guide, Sarah - Thank you for being patient with me. To my friends on Facebook and BTR - Thank you for waiting and your support. To my family and close friends - I love you.

My Father, Al Almada (1936 - 2012)
Soulstream is continuing to evolve as we have returned to something approaching a normal schedule since the death of my father. I've been dealing with a sick mother and surgeries for the past 8 months as a result of the strains of taking care of Dad during his difficult passage. Things have settled down and we're finally getting back to a normal schedule and the readings have become even better as I've incorporated the lessons from Dad's passing.

Dad was always a skeptic about the paranormal, until his own ghost sighting one month before his passing. It was with some satisfaction that I saw the sheer surprise in his eyes when he related that he had seen a man in our living room and then watched him vanish without a trace. We had seen these entities for years before he finally had his own encounter and I will never forget his referring to all of this as "bull" and you can fill in the rest ;>)

Last night, just before the show, I witnessed him cross by my room just as my mother had been thinking of him one room over. He has proven to be an effective communicator from the Other Side and I laugh now and simply wait for the experience of him finally getting around to telling me I was right and that he was wrong. Still waiting Pop ;>)

I'm writing  a book about the experiences we had because of his extended illness and the amazing experiences with the Other Side. Dad's gift to me and to the world at large was to show that family on the Other Side can and do help when a loved one is getting set to cross. And I wouldn't change a thing with all of the things that happened, both good and bad. It was simply his way of teaching me more about Spirit and their mysterious and beautiful ways...

In March of 2013, I'm  making the next step happen. I will be getting our business license and going through the process of doing private readings for those who have asked so many times for private readings. The process of healing and moving forward goes on. All because of the miracles that happened over these past six years.

We love you Dad... And Thank You...

Record those dreams... Lightened Dream, a free dream journaling tool

One of the things we do on my show is to cover basic techniques that help people to come to terms with their dreams and to take the messages they receive seriously. The problem seems to be that keeping a journal handy and then correlating the dreams is often easier said than done.

As the first "real" article on the SoulStream blog, I made the choice to cover a tool I downloaded to actually do that which I ask my audience to do... recording my dreams. I had a dream this morning that I visited a hospital on the Other Side and that this facility was there to help those who had crossed over to heal and to begin functioning in their new lives in the next world. I awoke happy about this dream and remembered enough that I knew I wanted to record it, but not on some paper I'd lose, but in a software tool I could do meaningful things with later.

So, I researched and came up with Lightened Dream, a dream tracking and lucid-dream development tool that is from the good folks at Lucidcode. The package is free and is one of two download tools available at their web site. Lucidcode also provides a tools for measuring your lucidity (ability to control your dreams and "awake" within the dream to control it's content) and even some custom electronics to help with your adventures while asleep.

The Lightened Dream software is a really remarkable tool for tracking dreams. What struck me was the intelligent manner that the software takes in reading through a dream that is entered. A range of categories are already available in the default profile when the software is started, but you can add to the category list to customize it.

A happy discovery was the "Unassigned" word list that then allows you to drag the words in question to the other category boxes to the right of the Unassigned box. Dreams that contain these words then can be called up by looking at the category list on the left. I am impressed with the flexible nature of the tool and know there is much more it can do.

Graphs with representative data about the dreams are integrated intelligently in the package.

While I only have one dream entered into the package thus far, it is clear there is a world of functionality in the tool that one only needs to explore to fully appreciate.

I will certainly be using the software to track my dreams and see where this leads me.

There are extra features with subliminal word displays that you can customize for your needs, REM cycle tools that I can only begin to guess at, likely a tool for helping you begin to come to terms with your REM cycle sleep and affect (will update later as I come to know more), a "Checks" button that appears to be some kind of tool for helping check where you are in an active dream state?, subliminal word displays as mentioned earlier (customizable), a "Recordings" button (empty when I pressed it, so I'm guessing this is a place to record dreams), a "Readings" button that has readings that then are displayed full-screen when the "Play" button is pressed. You can enter your own customized readings into this area. And finally, an "Exercises" button which I believe has to do with recording one's various attempts at lucid dreaming.

Again, I'm still learning what this package is about, but for a free dream recording tool with a wealth of other functions, it is an awesome piece of work and looks to be quite useful. More articles on Lightened Dream will be forthcoming to report on what we've learned in the future!

SoulStream - All about our show

When Soulstream was conceived, it was not even called that.

At the time, I was working with good friends to do an activity called "Telephone Bridging" to bring through those who have crossed over to a group of people working together privately.

We decided, between my friends, Cathie and Christine, to have fun doing shows and experimenting with new capabilities and ideas in on-air work with electronic voice phenomena and it was a heady and magical time that excited me then as it does now. There is just nothing more cool than to hear from those who have passed on and to have them share how the soul continues on after biological death.

One thing led to another and I ended up incorporating the practice of doing on-air EVP into my existing GhostRider Paranormal Radio show in early 2010. Little did I realize what we were in for. The readings were extremely popular and the show rose in popularity very quickly. I was somewhat surprised by it all and quickly found that there was a lot to learn and great gains were made and well as great mistakes which have taught me and others so much along the way.

We now do two shows weekly, sometimes more. I work with a great team on the Other Side who do help get the message through. The Other Side and our controls there are integral to the process. They are often the ones who come through or who help others to speak with us. It is an awesome working relationship and we are always learning, always testing new ideas and techniques.

We use on-air Mediumship, on-Air EVP bridging, Ovilus technology, Shack-hack radio and classic EVP to bring through those who want to work with us from the Other Side. We often will mix techniques or focus on just one technique to keep thing fresh and also to test theories and ideas as we go. This is an exciting time for us as well as for our friends on the Other Side. We now, as a species, have the ability for electronically bridge and augment classic mediumship for the first time and I predict that we will learn a lot of new things in the coming years that will ultimately make it possible to interact with the Other Side in a much more reliable and useful way.

Expect more articles and videos here on the SoulStream blog in the future. We want to share our technology and ideas with others to help move the state of the art along.
